Govt awaiting copy of HC order on RIL-RNRL dispute

New Delhi, June 15 (PTI) The Government today said it is awaiting a copy of the order before it makes comments on the Bombay High Court verdict on the gas dispute between RIL and RNRL.
Petroleum Secretary RS Pandey declined to comment on the court verdict till the Government received a copy of the order.

The Bombay High Court today upheld Anil Ambani group firm Reliance Natural Resources Ltd's contention to buy 28 mscmd of gas from Reliance Industries Ltd  at USD 2.34 per mmBtu for 17 years.

It wasn't however immediately clear as to when according to the court order RIL has to begin supply.

"We have not seen the copy of the order and it will not be appropriate for me to comment unless we see the written order," Pandey told PTI.

Asked if the government will charge taxes and other statutory levies including profit petroleum at its approved price of USD 4.2 per mmBtu even if RIL is to sell gas to RNRL at the lower rate of USD 2.34 per mmBtu, Pandey said, "I cannot comment unless I see the copy of the court order."

"We are waiting for a copy of the order," he said.
